Always searching for healthier and tastier food, I could not skip mentioning Cremolata it looks like a granita or sorbet but it’s basically a fruit centrifuge. If you have an ice cream maker (even a basic model like my 50$ one) you must try Cremolata, it’s super easy and so refreshing.
I made it with the optional addition of rum, a tribute to my favorite long drink: Daiquiri. But without rum is healthier and still great.
Ingredients per portion
- 400 g cantaloupe
- 80 ml of water
- 50 g fructose
- 1 lime
- 25 g of rum (optional)
Directions
- Cut the melon pulp into small pieces and place them in a bowl with the sugar, lemon juice, water, and rum.
- Cover with a lid and let it stand for 30 minutes. Blend until it becomes a smooth and fluid purée.
- Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and run the machine until it reaches the desired consistency.
- It should take about 20 minutes. When it’s ready, serve with a topping of lime zest.
